The City of Pasadena  was founded in 1893, it is on the southern bank of the Houston Ship Channel, and stretches to the banks of Clear Lake. Employment in Pasadena is closely linked to the ship channel industries and the Johnson Space Center in nearby Clear Lake.  Pasadena became well known due to the Urban Cowboy movie filmed in 1980, but is more culturally diverse than reflected in the movie. The City offers the Pasadena Philharmonic Society and the Pasadena Little Theatere which was established in 1955. 

           Pasadena is home to
San Jacinto College and Texas Chiropractic College which is the third oldest in the nation and considered among the best. Pasadena has a Convention Center that offers more than 40,000 sq. ft. of air conditioned space and more than 63,000 sq. ft. of outdoor covered space located on 100 acres of fairgrounds, it hosts the Pasadena Livestock Show and Rodeo as well as the Pasadena Strawberry Festival annually as well as other events.

           Other recreational activities in Pasadena include the
Armand Bayou Nature Center, a wetlands prairie, forest and marsh habitat preserve, the City Municipal Golf Course and Baywood Country Club Golf Course. Pasadena also has an extensive parks and recreation, it offers a Senior Center and many programs for the physically challenged and many other youth and adult programs.

           Pasadena youth attend either
Pasadena School District or Deer Park School District, or Clear Creek School District. Pasadena has experienced a tremendous growth in the Fairmont/Beltway area and now has many retail stores for convenient shopping.

           Housing in Pasadena is as diverse as the city itself from affordable priced starter homes to large homes in upscale neighborhoods, homes on acreage, waterfront homes including a planned highrise condominium on Clear Lake. Pasadena has many choices for you!
